Comment by The Wells Brothers on April 4, 2011 at 9:18pm Relativity Media and Hawaii State Legislators have already made several moves. Now is our turn to make a move.
Aloha HAN members,
This news is HOT off the press, just in today. SB318 IS ON THE MOVE AGAIN.
Wednesday April 6, 2011 @ 4pm will be the LAST public hearing for SB318. This will be the last chance we have for them to hear from the actors. The time is here for us to be seen and heard. Your support is needed in order to make a powerful statement to our state legislators so they will see how many actors and filmmakers want to have more productions come to Hawaii creating more jobs for all of us.
Here's what we need to make sure this bill stays on course to being passed.
1.) All HAN members to submit a testimony via the Hawaii State Legislator Website or send to SB318@hawaiiactors.com and we will make sure they get there. If you have already submitted a testimony to HAN via email, you do not have to do again. We still have them ready for submission.
Downloadable Sample Template for your testimony.
2.) We need as many HAN members to meet us at the state capitol on Wednesday April 6, 2011 @ 3pm by house conference room 308.
3.) If anyone will have challenges getting there because of transportation, please post in the Senate Bill 318 group and some of our members will help you to get there. Let's all pull together HAN members to make this happen.
We want all of you to be there to share and witness this historic piece of legislation that will help build the future of Hawaii's film industry.
The press will most likely be there so dress for an interview.
Be ready to celebrate with us after it has passed this step, guided by the HAWAII ACTORS.
See all of you at the state capitol building
Wednesday April 6, 2011 @ 3pm.
Remember: Our state legislators will always make sure they do the right thing for the people of Hawaii. When they are working on a bill as important as this one, they like to hear from the taxpayers in order to assure them that they are on the right track to doing the job you want them to do. If they don't hear from YOU then that could possibly give them a message that there is little to no intrest of film productions bringing work to Hawaii. Your presence and testimony is EXTREMELY important.

Louisiana is filming literally hundreds of Film & TV productions every year. Hawaii needs to match or come close to Louisiana's 35% tax film credits.

Bravo! It's all moving forward! Thank you for keeping us informed!
