Aloha Hawaii Actors Network,

My name is James Higgins and I am a ACM student at UH Manoa. I'm filming a short film called "Tailgate" this semester and I'm looking for actors. Here's a quick synopsis:

"This is a story about a bouncer at a Waikiki bar named Kanoa Medeiros, a charismatic 38-year-old single father of Hawaiian and Portuguese descent, who grew up in Kailua. Kanoa constantly wants validation from everyone around him, especially foreigners, but no one can stand his arrogant attitude and huge ego. While tailgating for the Hawaii Bowl on December 24^th with his best friend, Matt, and 9-year-old son, Micah, Kanoa gets into a dispute with Joe, a 28-year-old doctor of Caucasian and Hawaiian decent who just moved to Hawaii from Fresno and is trying to fit in by speaking pidgin. Kanoa blames Joe’s 9-year-old son, Kimo, for giving Micah a black eye while they were playing catch in the parking lot together. When Kanoa finds out the real truth he must put his pride aside and ends the dispute with Joe."

I have five roles:

Kanoa:38 years old. Hawaiian/Portuguese. Arrogant single father from Hawaii.  Bouncer at a bar in Waikiki.

Joe:28 years old. Caucasian/Hawaiian. Arrogant single father from California. Doctor.

Matt:38 years old. Asian/Hawaiian. Kanoa's best friend. Bouncer at a bar in Waikiki.

Micah:9 years old. Hawaiian/Portuguese/mix. Kanoa's son.

Kimo:9 years old. Caucasian/Hawaiian/mix. Joe's son. 

This is going to be a very fun film to work on. We are going to shoot at the Aloha Stadium parking lot and there's gonna be plenny ono grinds, just like a regular tailgate!
