The Business of Screenwriting
Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5 from 9:00am-4:00pm
So you’ve written a brilliant screenplay. What’s next? How do you get your foot into the door in Hollywood? How do you get an agent? What does an agent do for you? What do you do on “meet and greets?” What type of work are screenwriters expected to come up with besides their screenplay to get their film greenlit? Day 2 includes individual and group exercises with an opportunity to workshop existing story ideas or come up with new story ideas in a pitchable format.
Iris Yamashita is a Japanese American screenwriter nominated for an Academy Award for her screenplay, Letters From Iwo Jima, (winner of the Golden Globe award for "Best Foreign Language Film" and nominated for 4 Oscars). She spent her childhood in Hawaii, attending Punahou School.
