Fashion sets a standard for beauty yet fashion itself has changed throughout its inception. Fashion standards have not changed due to a trend. To me... that is old fashion. Fashion is about change. So.... why not change the standards set for an industry that represents change? I'm a petite trying to succeed in fashion. Petites do have a place in fashion. We just need a chance. I'm a strong advocate for changing the fashion worlds belief that only one form of beauty exists. That is clearly not the case. And it it was what a boring world we would live in. We can change fashion standards by being part of the change we want to see.

Some facts.......Fashion Industry standard size women at 5’9″ and taller only represent 3% of women. The fashion industry is alienating the majority of women around the world. According to the fashion industry Petite is defined as 5′5″ inches tall and under. In the United States petite women represent 70% of the female population. The average height of a U.S. female is 5’3″. There are approximat...ely a hundred million petite women that are categorized as fit, curvy and plus-sized domestically. The petite female market has a compound annual growth rate of 8.6 percent annually. These women represent ten billion dollars of buying power in the retail industry. 

In my opinion it makes good business sense to market products to your "real" consumers. The petite market is huge. Beauty is in all shapes and sizes.
