Because the new Union was voted in, elections have been postponed until 2013. So, please hold your enthusiasm for Joji for another year.

I joined, but see that it is for SAG members only. If you need to delete my joining here, you may do so. I did hear that SAG and AFTRA are close to merging.

When you've been in the "game" for what can feel like "eternity" at times, or even for a while, sooner or later you DEFINITELY come across disappointment.  At times, you can really feel like the whole world is against you or that there must be "forces" in place that only strive to see you fail - I can't stress enough sometimes how if you're not careful to guard yourself, you can really "lose heart," and fast!  There's nothing worse than feeling "defeated" and not having ANYTHING left to move you forward.

I'm not sure how to put this into words, but Joji has remained for me a constant reminder not to give up.  Personally, he's always been there for me, and especially through the "dark" times I've had to face, even when contemplating whether or not to give up acting.  For some reason I can't quite explain (but only feel that it's there), I can't help but feel a resurgence of energy and motivation, as well as a hope that can easily eminate from him (and at times just pure laughter and happiness) whenever we meet up and discuss things, not just about the industry, but even about anything in general - He's that type of friend.  He's that kind of person.  Sometimes, I'm amused at the thought that I can't believe a "person" like that exists.  Luckily for me (and for everyone else that holds the same conviction), He does. 

More than just having the ability in keeping my spirits up during hard times, there's an undeniably genuine "spirit" about him, a sincere desire and drive that I (as well as evidently anyone) can see has helped him through his difficult times (he's human too!) and has helped him achieve the success he's gained as result of his undying persistence (It's fun to look back and remember we both started out as budding actors in Wayne Ward's class, HA!).

Like I said, at times I find it hard to believe that a person like that could live amongst us beyond the "silver screen" - apparently his name is "Joji Yoshida" (and as I've also said before, DON'T just take my word for it, GO SEE HIM and try to prove that I'm wrong...I DOUBLE DARE YA!

What a choice!  Joji has a great track record.  He knows the industry, is aware of the shortfalls; I believe he will ensure HI-SAG will run with common sense and stern rules to keep the industry fair in Hawaii.

Joji for president ! I fully suport it bc knowing joji for over 10 years

I have only good things to say about him . always encouraging everyone around , he has alot knowlodge in this area and Im sure he would be a great president!

Aloha Joji fans, I find it very difficult to know how or where to start with my heartfelt endorsement for Joji as the next SAG president.  I have known him for the last 10+ years now and in those years he has worked with me in many categories from P.A. to casting associate, actor, stunt coordinator, Japanese translator, grant and funding seeker, volunteer for ‘Ohina showcase, HIFF volunteer, and the job positions AND his talents go on and on!

I can offer perspective from at least one local production sector for example. As a production coordinator, especially for Japanese productions, I find that local actors need someone like Joji that can reach out to the groups of local coordination companies that cater to Japanese and the burgeoning Asian production influx.  With his background and language ability Joji could be a huge asset to these producers in getting more SAG and other local actors seen by more of these lessor known yet important productions.

That's just one asset of a myriad that he possesses.  Also, he quietly will boast of possessing a huge "rollodex" of contacts not only in the local industry but also neighbor island, mainland, as well as international.  Believe me I've witnessed his outreach capabilities to motivate the throngs into action.  Simply awesome!

You see, when it comes to the varied requirements of production Joji is as flexible as they come.  He is unselfish, never disappoints, always eager to help, punctual, supportive, dependable, very connected, and with a quiet resolve, he simply will get things done!

Please cast your vote for Joji.
