Does anyone know if calls went out already for Cougartown? I was told they'd start calling on Sunday, but didn't hear back.

I'm having a “Hollywood Comes To Kauai” theme party event coming up on Thursday, March 3 at the Hyatt Kauai on Poipu Road in the Ilima Gardens.

I need the following characters to do a “walk around” gig from 6:00-9:00 PM with a call time of 5:30 PM:

1. Twenty something, scary, screaming, fierce, male native in malo with tattoos to “scare” my guests as they walk through the tunnel entrance into the party

2. Twenty something “Faye Raye” blond, shapely female to stand next to the giant King Kong and Empire State Building at the party

3. Indiana Jones male look a like in leather “Indy” jacket, hat and rope
I Need to find these talented, gifted folks on Kauai.

Thank you so much.

I am scouting for freelance talent for 3 commercials for a small,
Hawaii business, The Wedding Cafe, to be cast by Reel Services. The
client is looking for the following:

FEMALES:   must look 25-32 (role of Bride)
must look late 40s to late 50s (role of Bride's mom)
MALES:       must look 25-32  (role of Groom)
(All must be fairly height/weight proportionate, give or take a few
pounds! The commercials do not call for heavy character looks. No
head or neck tattoos.)

There is quite a bit of dialogue so acting experience is a big plus!
Standard American English or slight pidgin accents are requested.

If you currently have an agent, please contact your agent directly to
see if you qualify for this audition. Reel Services requires that you
honor your agreement with your agent. If you don't have an agent
please email me your photo, resume and contact information. Be sure
both attachments contain your first and last name in the titles to
make it easy for the clients to identify you! I will follow up by
contacting you with additional information.

Submissions must be received no later than end of day, Tues., Feb.
22. This is not an open casting call. Audition appointments for Feb.
26 are necessary. Shoot date is March 19.

This project is non-union and selected talent will be compensated.

Thank you,

Aloha my name is Jobe Allen. I am a Voice Actor. I have a smooth friendly baritone voice, great for radio, narration and voice over projects. In character however, my voice is commanding and menacing with universal authoritative qualities. I have natural comic timing and love improvisation. I believe my experiences in theater, choir, and as a phonemic language instructor have added to my versatility. My dream is to be a part of a major animated series.

The Act of Acting

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 02:17 AM PST

Is there any more overwrought, under-appreciated, and fully elusive profession than acting?

Think “The Actor’s Studio” with James Lipton.  A steady stream of top-name actors and they ALL espouse a different approach to their craft.  How do you teach that?  How do you LEARN that?

All I know is…in the trying…you grow.  You find a way.

That’ll be a goal of mine in 2011…get some acting training.  Lord knows after 30 years of anchoring the news…I’ve got some serious ruts to dig myself out of.

That’s why I appreciate Bob Fraser.  It’s been quite a while since I’ve written about Bob.  I’d give you a link, but you’ll have to Google his name yourself to believe how prolific this guy is.  He’s everywhere…and you may have rec’d some offers to buy some of his materials.  He’s good at marketing himself and his knowledge.

Let me leave you with a link, though, to his new blog:  The Professional Actor…and his first entry:  “6 Guaranteed Ways to Fail in Hollywood”.

Bob’s not the end-all-and-be-all when it comes to acting coaching…but you’ll find plenty of meat on the bones in the stuff he offers.

Sign up for his Newsletter, and you get a free weekly planner…a token…I know…but somewhere down the line, something Bob offers will strike a chord, and you’ll be glad for the referral

DON’T WANT TO BE ALONE FOR NEW YEARS?

This is your chance to find romance on a Nationally Syndicated TV show produced by Hamada-Kahn Productions…

Are you between the ages of 18-39? Are you attractive with a great personality? Will you be on Oahu and available for auditions on December 12th or 13TH and for taping on December 19th and 20th? Are you interested in being on TV? If you answered yes to these questions and are looking to meet fun and attractive singles, then WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOOSE???

Audition will be on December 12th & 13th (Sun-Mon) from 9AM-3PM at the Society of Seven MAIN STAGE SHOWROOM at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. Come to either day!!!

Taping of the show is on December 19th and 20th (Sun-Mon). YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR BOTH DAYS OF TAPING!!!!!

This is not a monetarily compensated game show. Winners will win an all expense paid evening to be followed by a camera crew.

ONLY if you are unable to make this casting and are VERY interested, email HotDateHawaii@gmail.com.
