HOW TO SAVE HAWAII:

NEW WAVE

SHORT FILM

CASTING CALL

HAWAII:PRESENT DAY. Cast in the throes of a decimating financial crisis and nearing evisceration over centuries of political and cultural cataclysm, there seems to be no escape from Empire. But one resilient ex-mayor (six terms, in fact), FRANK, refuses to surrender and continues to dedicate his daily life to the one thing he's ever loved: the city.

In his efforts to expose RON REWALD, an investor swindling Hawaii's riches through a massive Ponzi scheme, Frank becomes disillusioned at the indifferent politicians and bloated system of bureaucracy. Enraged at the GREED,CORRUPTION, and SELF-INTEREST poisoning his city, Frank takes it on his own to'cut through the red tape' - with force. But there are things man was not meant to know. As Frank 'follows the money', he uncovers...

...a vast and impenetrable conspiracy that has been controlling the governments and economies of the world since the beginning of time - and now, they're running Hawaii.

This is a suspenseful, contemporary neo-noir action thriller, best described as if CHINATOWN meets BLADERUNNER. This is an attempt to film an examination on the contradictions of 'paradise': what Hawaii was, is, and will become, and more importantly, who WE are as the people who live here. This is: HOW TOSAVE HAWAII: NEW WAVE
