Aloha! My name is Jess Bryden. For the past decade I have worked in Los Angeles as an editor, director and visual effects supervisor on countless films and television productions. I moved to Oahu last year to pursue writing and directing a feature film called “Spirit of Fire”. The movie is a tragic Romeo and Juliet style romance set in South America during a civil war.
Having finished a year of writing and pre-production, I am shooting a low-budget trailer and several complete scenes to help facilitate the sale of the film, after which time I will be returning here to film the complete feature.

Shaman – (40-65, ageless, Male) He is a mystic, a spirit warrior from lands far away. Covered in tattoos and filled with timeless wisdom, he is a sage and a guide to Mateo, the film’s lead character. The Shaman saves Mateo’s life and becomes his teacher and a mentor, helping Mateo escape from the gang and violence that he grew up with. The Shaman is wise and cunning, but agile and powerful like a Samurai. His world is the jungle, the amazon and the realm of the spiritual.
