Last Resort

A one-hour pilot for a drama about the fugitive crew of a nuclear submarine will be shot in Hawaii for ABC, the network announced Friday.“Last Resort,” written by Karl Gajdusek and Shawn Ryan, will be produced by Sony Studios, which confirmed the location. Ryan will also serve as the executive producer. Aloha! My name is Jess Bryden. For the past decade I have worked in Los Angeles as an editor, director and visual effects supervisor on countless films and television productions. I moved to Oahu last year to pursue writing and directing a feature film called “Spirit of Fire”. The movie is a tragic Romeo and Juliet style romance set in South America during a civil war. The movie is also a spiritual journey into the world of the Amazon. I realized that Hawaii is the perfect place to make this movie and has so much beauty to showcase. I have fallen in love with the spirit and energy of the people and environment here.

Having finished a year of writing and pre-production, I am shooting a low-budget trailer and several complete scenes to help facilitate the sale of the film, after which time I will be returning here to film the complete feature.
I have a team of visual effects artists and several producers still in Los Angeles who are working with me on this project already.

Where/When:

The film shoot is scheduled for August 10th-14th.

Are you available any days between August 10th through 14th? I need actors with stunts, martial arts, fighting, tumbling, free running, Parkour or military experience. We will be filming hand-to-hand combat, martial arts, jungle chases, gunfights and a variety of other scenes. I will probably need you for one full day or perhaps a day and a half.

Hi Kevin..thank you for the compliment. I only auditioned once for a waitress but didn't get it.  Haven't gotten any other calls from my agent on Oahu since..would love to be on there though!  Sure it has to be the right timing..i do live on Maui right now but thinking of moving back to Oahu.  However, there is a film studio being built here on Maui and rumour has it that "Relativity" will be onboard which is a huge deal!  So..i have faith that there will be tons of films here that i can be a part of! Mahalo and maybe i will see you here on a set?  Mahalo!  Cyndi   when was your birthday?  Mine was Jan 25!
